Seasonal Dawn
Vivid brightness gives way to muted glow.
Summer’s broken promises withdraw.
Clarity clinging to crisp, cool air.
Seasonal dawn in all its splendour.
Warm amber tones purifying.
Recollections and dreams not set apart.
And there, hiding in the autumn leaves;
The pieces of my heart.
His Memory Is My Shadow
I hear him in the notes, of the song that was our own.
His touch imprinted on my skin and carried down to bone.
I see him in the old footpaths, we walked our journey through.
Soulmates guiding one another to situations new. Forever was not gifted, by fate or destiny.
What I’d give for one more night, to have him here with me.
